Lovely overview, informative and enjoyable as always. I really need to investigate Reece more as I only own 'Asia Minor's, 'Bkues Trinity's seems a must considering Tubbs is on it. The tune from 'Progress Report' is fabulous and you can definitely hear JA in it.

I had no idea he was on 'Passing Ships' an album I took rate highly (have to disagree on the early Hills though, essential, all of them ..)

Thanks again for piquing my interest

Loved this one as well -your run down on Reece. I spent the morning listening to a couple of later albums, ‘Manhattan Project’ on Beehive with Clifford Jordan, Albert Daily, Charles Davis, Art Davis & the ever immaculate, dearly departed last year, Roy Haynes, Also ‘Blowin’ Away’ with Ted Curzon, Claude Williamson, Sam Jones, & again Roy Haynes.made some espresso and posted on FB my belated birthday tribute to the 94 year old still resident in NYC.

Loved Roy Haynes. Whenever I see his name I always hear Sarah Vaughn's voice saying, "Roy Haynes" from Shulie A Bop on her 1954 Emarcy album.

"I ain't mad at you pretty baby, don't be mad at me..." A classic.
